Unified AV Systems Changes Its Name to Unified Technology Systems

October 1, 2018

We are excited to announce that we have changed our name to Unified Technology Systems.

Why did Unified AV Systems change the name to Unified Technology Systems?

It has been our strategic vision to expand our capabilities beyond providing the best in pure Audio-Visual solutions. We have increased our catalog of services to include a complete spectrum of IT, AV, and other low voltage solutions. In all we do, we strive to be our clients’ single source solutions and service provider across a wide range of low voltage technologies.

With the addition of resources from a network-physical layer infrastructure and security powerhouse, our Unified team has expanded our suite of technology solutions. This enabled our evolution from an AV systems integration firm to a single source provider that can deliver a full range of solutions for our clients and prospective customers.

These additional capabilities will allow Unified Technology Systems to provide our clients with an integrated approach capable of incorporating multiple technologies designed by a single team. Clients will no longer have to manage multiple vendors and contracts to achieve their objectives. This unified approach will improve operational efficiencies and simplify interactions for our customers resulting in more value from their technology budget.

Our new logo signifies our enhanced focus on being a single source provider for our customers. The logo includes two inner dots supported by seven outer dots. Our two main customer stakeholders, including end users and IT managers, being supported by the seven service roles that Unified provides. These roles include solution specialists, project management, account management, engineers, installers, programmers, and service.

The logo also demonstrates how Unified brings together Audio and Visual solutions, collaboration, control, facilities, network, security, infrastructure, and digital signage.

With operational offices throughout the southeastern United States, Unified has experienced teams ready to help clients achieve their technology goals. Our new web address is www.GoUnified.tech

Unified Technology Systems becomes 100% Employee Owned

November 2, 2016

ATLANTA, GA – Unified Technology Systems, a leading provider of commercial AV technology solutions in the Southeast, announces that their Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) has completed a transaction to purchase the remaining shares of outstanding company stock from the company founders Bruce Banbury and Jim Pressley.  When the company was formed as an ESOP in June 2011, as a merger of two companies, the ESOP owned 34% of the company stock and each of the founders retained 33%.  With the completion of this transaction, the remaining shares were purchased by the ESOP which will continue to grant shares to employees annually.

“We all owe a debt of gratitude to Jim and Bruce for having the vision and strength to put this plan together, and execute it in the originally planned 5 year timeframe” said Barry Goldin, CTS, President of Unified Technology Systems.  “The employees now truly own this company and together we will grow stronger every day and continue to provide excellent solutions for our clients.”

“It is extremely gratifying to me that we have transferred full ownership to our employees” said Jim Pressley, Principal and Founding Partner of Unified Technology Systems.  “I love the fact that everyone’s hard work and dedication has resulted in ownership of a company where all of the future growth will benefit our employee/owners directly.  We work in a fairly tight knit industry and I would like to thank all of our friends and partners that helped make this possible.”

“We have always been focused on nurturing our employees and looking for that long-term relationship” said Bruce Banbury, Principal and Founding Partner of Unified Technology Systems.  “The ESOP gives each employee a unique opportunity to have a rewarding career and build a retirement portfolio that few others will ever see.  This incentive gives the company the distinctive advantage of sustaining top notch employees that few companies can compete with.“

“Transition to an employee-owned company is a vital step toward company maturity.  Unified is no longer dependent on a single owner or small ownership group.  This clears the runway for long term stability, growth and profitability.” said KC Schwarz, member of the Unified Board of Directors.

Unified is headquartered in Atlanta with offices in Marietta, Georgia, Greenville and Columbia, South Carolina, Knoxville, Tennessee, and Charlotte, Greensboro and Raleigh, North Carolina. Unified delivers a complete spectrum of innovative audio-visual (AV) solutions and technical services for the corporate, education, healthcare, government, military and worship markets.
